After six very successful editions of the Eindhoven Liberation Festival, the seventh edition took place on Saturday, September 14, 2024! This annual festival, organized by the Liberation 040 Foundation, commemorates the liberation of Eindhoven and celebrates freedom in a big way by bringing together different social groups in the city. The festival focuses on raising awareness about freedom and the preservation of cultural heritage.
Liberation 040 aims to organize a free festival, which takes place annually, to promote knowledge and awareness about the liberation of Eindhoven and the Second World War, especially among young people and young professionals. To achieve this, the foundation focuses on the following key points:
- Creating awareness about freedom among young people in Eindhoven through an interactive, cultural and musical festival.
- Visualizing and commemorating the history of Eindhoven during the Second World War in order to preserve its cultural heritage.
AWARENESS
To increase awareness at the festival in an interactive way, we decided to use reveal tabs in which a freedom dove appeared behind a crosshair and ’80 years of freedom’ appeared behind the Liberation 040 logo. This kept visitors focused on the tabs and curious about what was behind the first print.
REVEAL TABS
There were many visitors who tried out the Funtabs and wanted to know what was behind both designs. We received nice reactions and the festival itself was a great success. We celebrated freedom in a good way and contributed to awareness of our freedom through the interactive Funtabs.
